I had a lot of fun drawing Ganesha in the Boat Race comic, so here's a revisit of him. I went to see the Dead Sea Scrolls yesterday and I was feeling super inspired from being at the Royal Ontario Museum.

I really dig this. the colored version could use a biiit less contrast in the coloring, because most of these amazing details die out in the colored one. fantastic piece all the same :)

Thanks for the crit... I did notice the lost details in the colored one, but I'm always afraid of making color adjustments right after I've colored something, I can never judge if my corrections help or hinder a piece. : P Maybe I'll try playing around with it later this evening.

really? gosh I'm so hit-miss-tweak-hit again about colors :P try to calibrate your monitor to how things print and fear not the edits, just don't spend too long on them either :) it's good discipline to keep thinks as you called them at first, but not necessarily always the only option :)

Yeah I know there's something about my monitor that I gotta fix, because I'll paint something to have soft/muted colors, and then I'll look at it on someone else's computer and it'll be WAY too colorful... I'll try the calibrating thing and see how it goes!
